French Bow Halfup

Of all the hairstyle I did, this one is the biggest hit on my Instagram. This hairstyle is inspired by cutegirlshairstyles. This hairstyle is not that difficult to do once you know the tricks to make the bow.

You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, hair pins, wax, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Taken: 10 mins

Skill Level: Medium

Hair Length: Any hair length

Steps of Instructions:

  1. Begin by side parting the hair, separate the heavier section down to the each ear.
  2. Secure the rest of hair with an elastic to stay out of place.
  3. Now, create a small section about a ¼ inch wide that runs parallel to the original part.
  4. On heavier section, start a regular French braid near the parting.
  5. When you reach the ear, stop picking the hair and end with a simple braid, secure the braid with an elastic.
  6. Repeat the same on another side of parting.
  7. Now to create the bow, begin by pushing the hairpin through the first stitch of the braid.
  8. Take a small section of hair from ¼ inch section and make it wet or you can apply hair wax.
  9. Make a loop with the hair and push it through the hairpin.
  10. Now, hold the loop with a finger, then gently pull the hairpin back through the stitch, allow the new loop to be stitched, thus bow is created.
  11. Continue the steps 8-10 bow creating 4-5 bows.
  12. After finishing with bows, take the remaining hair and simply braid till the ends.
  13. Then tie both the braid at the back of the hair and secure with an elastic.
  14. Remove the remaining elastic from the braids and you’re done…

Happy Braiding
