loop with side fishtail

Hello! Any combination with fishtail doesn’t ever fail. Like this one with a loop on the back of head looks beautiful. I did this hairstyle on Rakhi festival. Braids look so good on traditional dresses. I have pancaked the fishtail to make it look dreamy.

You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Taken: 8-10 mins

Skill Level: Hard

Hair Length: Medium to long hair

Steps of Instructions:

  1. Begin by side parting the hair, now pick a section of hair from lighter section about 2-3 inches deep and divide it into 2 sections.
  2. Now take the second section next to parting over the previous section, makes a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them. Every time when you merge the sections make sure the section used to make loop is above the other one. (This is the key to this hairstyle).
  3. Again grab a new section of hair, place it over the merged section, make a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them.
  4. Continue to braid by repeating the steps 2-3 such that the braid goes in a circular pattern. As you continue to braid always grab the hair from the outside edges of head.
  5. Once you reach the other side of ear, secure the braid with bobby pins.
  6. Now with the remaining hair, begin with fishtail braid.
  7. Divide the hair into 2 large sections, take a tiny piece of hair from left side and cross it over that strand and add it to right side strand.
  8. Again take a tiny piece of hair from right side and cross it over that strand and add it to left side strand.
  9. Keep repeating the steps 7-8 till you reach end of hair, secure the braid with elastic.
  10. Pancake the edges of the braid to make it look voluminous if you want.

Happy Braiding.
