Loop Crown

Hello! This loop crown is much similar to the French loop headband. Braiding concept is same, just that the stitch goes round the head to form crown. Loop crown is great for the medium hair length, reason being it is convenient to take loops easily. However this style is possible for long hair as well but taking loops might get inconvenient.

I couldn’t do this hairstyle on self so I tried on my mannequin. This hairstyle is good idea for the hot summer day as it keeps all the hair up.

You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Taken: 3-4 mins

Skill Level: Hard

Hair Length: Any hair length

Steps of Instructions:

  1. Begin by side parting the hair, now pick a section of hair from heavier section about 2-3 inches deep and divide it into 2 sections.
  2. Now take the second section next to parting over the previous section, makes a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them. Every time when you merge the sections make sure the section used to make loop is above the other one. (This is the key to this hairstyle).
  3. Again grab a new section of hair, place it over the merged section, make a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them.
  4. Continue to braid by repeating the steps 2-3 such that the braid goes in a circular pattern. As you continue to braid always grab the hair from the outside edges of head.
  5. Once you reach the other side of parting, there wouldn’t be any scope to add new hair so begin to loop braid till you run out of hair and secure the ends with elastic.
  6. Now take the ends of the braid and wrap it around the beginning of the braid, gently placing the braid directly behind the original braid.
  7. Simply add bobby pins to secure everything into place.
  8. Add hairspray.
