Fishtail with twisted edges

Hello! Today’s hairstyle is fishtail with little variation. It is called fishtail with twisted edges which look so trendy. I love how this braid looks thick, if you want to make it look thicker, you can pancake the twisted edges a little bit.

This hairstyle is inspired by princess hairstyles. I did a little variation by doing 3 strand braid on top and fishtail with twisted edges as a side braid. You can also make an updo from this hairstyle; you just need to tie the braid into a bun!

This hairstyle is gives a romantic and soft look, which is perfect for probably any occasion!

You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, bobby pins, hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Taken: 10-12 mins

Skill Level: Hard

Hair Length: Medium to long hair

Steps of Instructions:

  1. Grab a chunk of hair from each side behind the ear, and then divide the section of hair into 3 equal strands.
  2. Begin to braid the regular 3 strand braid with these section.
  3. Continue braiding by repeating the above step until you run out of hair. Pancake the braid to make it voluminous. Secure the braid with elastic.
  4. Now place the braid horizontally to another side behind the ear and secure it with bobby pins.
  5. Take the rest of the hair to one side & divide the hair into 2 large sections.
  6. Now take a tiny piece of hair from left section, cross it over that section & add it to right section.
  7. Again grab the tiny piece of hair from right section, cross it over that section & add it to left section.
  8. Likewise, take a tiny piece of hair from left section and keep it aside or tell someone to hold.
  9. Again, take a tiny piece of hair from right section and keep it aside or tell someone to hold.
  10. Now take a piece of hair from left section cross it over the remaining strand and add it to right section.
  11. Then take a piece of hair from right section, cross it under the strand kept aside & add to left section.
  12. Continue braiding by repeating the steps 7-11 till you reach end of hair.
  13. Secure the braid with elastic.
  14. Pancake the braid if you want.
