Side Fishtail Braid

Side Fishtail braid is done by taking  the strands over each other. Like French braid with 3 strands, french fishtail braid is done same way. You need to take tiny pieces of hair while braiding. I did this hairstyle while on holiday. You’ll be surprise to know that I did this hairstyle in car. We were getting late  to reach at destination so I did it while on drive. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy! You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 10-12 mins Skill Level: Medium Hair Length: Medium to long hair Steps of Instructions: Begin with side parting, now grab the piece of hair from heavier section and divide them into 2 equal parts. Dragon Braid

This happens to be the super easy braid. It’s a kind of pull through braid with a micro braid incorporated in between. At the front part of forehead I did twist & then did this as a side braid. You can carry this hairstyle with any kind of hair texture, straight, wavy or curly! I did this hairstyle at a family gathering. It would be perfect for day out, vacation, work, meetings or parties. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}. Mermaid Side Do

This is one of my favorite hairstyle. Mermaid side do goes well with any marriage occasion. I did lace braid at the back following with mermaid braid as a side braid. I think this combination looks glamorous together. I just love how it turned out! So neat! Girls wear this hairstyle and make people a head turner. Jokes apart! But I strongly recommend this hairstyle for sangeet, reception, baby shower, wedding, parties, and festivals. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, bobby pins, hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 10-12 mins Skill Level: Hard Hair Length: Medium to long hair Steps of Instructions: Section off the hair behind the ear diagonally to the nape of neck, keep aside the rest of hair for the time being. Now grab the hair from other side of parting, divide the hair into 3 equal sections. Take the inner strand under the middle one & outer parting under the middle strand. Then keep adding the new strand of hair to the outer most strand, which form the lace braid. Fishtail Braid

This would be perfect style for parties, festivals, marriages. I wore this hairstyle on rakhi festival with salwar suit. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 5-7 mins Skill Level: Easy Hair Length: Medium to long hair Steps of Instructions: Begin with side parting your hair, grab all the hair to any one side. Divide the hair into 2 sections, then grab the tiny piece of hair from left section, cross it over that section & add it to right section. Again grab the tiny piece of hair from right section, cross it over that section & add it to left section. Keep repeating the above steps till you reach the end of hair. This side do for long hair is combination of pinned curls at the back and mermaid braid as a side braid. Looks charming on sleek and straight hair. Each stitch of mermaid is visible with straight hair. This hairstyle is perfect for sangeet, reception, baby shower, wedding, parties, and festivals. Hello! Any combination with fishtail doesn’t ever fail. Like this one with a loop on the back of head looks beautiful. I did this hairstyle on Rakhi festival. Braids look so good on traditional dresses. I have pancaked the fishtail to make it look dreamy. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 8-10 mins Skill Level: Hard Hair Length: Medium to long hair Steps of Instructions: Begin by side parting the hair, now pick a section of hair from lighter section about 2-3 inches deep and divide it into 2 sections. Now take the second section next to parting over the previous section, makes a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them. Every time when you merge the sections make sure the section used to make loop is above the other one. (This is the key to this hairstyle). Again grab a new section of hair, place it over the merged section, make a loop and pull the section through that loop and merge them. I did this hairstyle last year on Rakhi only. Also I had to attend the baby shower function so this style was perfect for  it. One thing I love about this braid is that it looks so thick and fine. That is actually double braid put together. It makes the people wonder about which braid actually it is! Sporty Braid

As the name suggests Sporty Braid, perfect to carry on sports and dance as well. The braid is in ponytail form where few strands are wrapped over each other in a criss cross pattern. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 1-2 mins Skill Level: Easy Hair Length: Medium to long hair Steps of Instructions: Grab the hair on one side and secure it with elastic. Now take a large section of hair from ponytail, grab 2 tiny strands from that section. Now keeping the ponytail in between those tiny strands, cross both the strands over the ponytail and then again cross then under the ponytail. Keep wrapping these 2 strands around the ponytail by crossing it over and under till you reach end. Again take out 2 tiny strand strands from the section and repeat the steps 3-4, only make sure that they are wrapped above the previous one. Hello! Today’s hairstyle is micro 3 strand braid into 3 strand braid. The name itself suggests how to do this hairstyle. Though it looks complicated but don’t judge with how it looks. It is super quick and effortless to do onself. This can your everyday hairstyle or it can be carried well at work and meeting as well.
