Hairstyle inspired by Shay Mitchell: Spine Braid Bun

Spine Braid is my new obsession, definitely the hair goals for 2016.  This hairstyle is inspired by Shay Mitchell. The original hairstyle had these rings on the braid. I don’t know if it could be your everyday hairstyle, it totally varies from person to person. Probably it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. To start with it begins with triangle parting starting from the apex center of the head diagonally and then down to the neck. Now you wanna take the tiny section of head at the nape of neck and begin with 3 strand dutch braid. Continue to braid till you reach the apex of the head. Then you wanna make a high ponytail grabbing all the hair and make fishtail braid out of that ponytail. Wrap the fishtail around that braid, a little bit messy and secure it with bobby pins. You’ll Need: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}. Time Taken: 12-15 mins Skill Level:  Hard Hair Length: Medium to long hair

Time Taken: 8-10 minutes Skill Level: Medium Hair Length: Any hair length Steps of Instructions: Start off with the center parting your hair, then again divide the hair into 2 sections on each side making the section of approx 2 inch in size. Now begin to dutch braid each section till the crown area, after that you can braid a regular 3 strand braid. Grab all the hair into a high ponytail, taking those braids as well. You can release the braid if you want smooth bun. ( I kept braid as it is, you can see the braids in bun) You need to tease the ponytail to give volume and wrap it around the base of ponytail to make a voluminous bun. Add hairspray and you are done. Triple French Double Waterfall Braided Bun

Well! Waterfall braid hairstyle looks so intricate and tricky, yet beautiful. I must say that it’s an advance version of braiding.  The tricky part for this hairstyle is picking the right strand of waterfall pieces while taking the stitch. Here I started braiding from center by grabing the hair from eyebrows to eyebrows. This one is similar to the criss cross waterfall braid I did. http://tanvivayla.com/portfolio/criss-cross-waterfall-braid-2 Then take the hair from temple on both sides and incorporate the waterfall pieces. After you are done, grab all the hair into a high bun. Bun with Hair bow

This hairstyle amazed me when I saw it on Instagram. At first I wasn’t sure if the bow is of real hair or a clip in pin. After knowing that the bun with bow is done with a hair itself, I couldn’t stop myself to try it. I did this on a holiday. The day was windy so it was perfect hairstyle to wear. I did this for the couple of times before but on others.
